West Bromwich Mountaineering Club

Who are we?

West Bromwich Mountaineering Club is a club for mountaineers based in the West Midlands and surrounding areas.

What do we do?

WBMC organises a wide range of mountaineering meets throughout the year. These include single day Coach Meets to mountaineering areas in England and Wales and longer trips to these areas and further afield. We also run a wide range of social events, including dinner meets, evening walks and mountaineering slide shows. The full list of events for the current year is shown on the Meets List page of this site.

Perhaps more importantly, WBMC brings mountaineers together, so that friendships can be formed and a passion for mountaineering can be shared.

How to find us

WBMC meets every Thursday evening for an informal chat and a drink at the Globe Inn, Reform Street, West Bromwich. Just turn up after 9.00pm and ask for the Mountaineering Club. Alternatively, send us an e-mail; we will be happy to tell you how to book on our Club meets.

How to join

Interested in joining? Please send give our membership secretary, Andrew a call on 0121 505 1239 and we will be happy to tell you how to go about it.

Prospective members must go through a probationary period, during which they must attend two mountaineering meets. We also like to see prospective members on at least one social meet during this period. After this, the committee will normally approve the application and you will have become a member of WBMC.
