As you may or may not know The Honourable Legend Captain Cag aka JOHN EDWARDS the Newsletter Editor will be resigning from his post in March. He leaves behind a legacy of producing our fantastic Newsletters from over many years of service he has put into the Club. The Committee, and i am sure all Club members past and present cannot thank John enough for the considerable time, effort and love that he has put into the Newsletters over many years. We are therefore looking for someone to take over the Position from March 2025 onwards . The Newsletter needs only to Contain information relevant to the Club and does NOT need any other info which John used to add out of the kindness of his own heart. If no one can be found for this position then the Club will have to revert to posting on the Website and via emails or WhatsApp for all future events. If you can help with this opening please contact the Committee. asap.
As you may or may not know Claire and myself are currently fighting Cancer. In order to help us out at this difficult time with our duties for the club, we would be very grateful if you could all go the extra mile. As Hut secretary i am asking you all to keep up the good work that you already do when visiting the Hut. At present i am not able to visit and look after the Hut as much as i would like. Could you please keep it clean and stocked with Kindling, paper and take some with you if you can. Also a general hut pack such as tea towels, matches, toilet roll and hut slippers never goes a miss. Try to keep all the work surfaces clean and don't leave any food out for the pesky mice.
Claire has asked that to help her out would you kindly put the Banking Code HF next to any payment you make so that she can easily identify what you are paying for. This will make things a lot easier for her.
All help welcomed and appreciated until normal service is resumed.

More and more of the clubs activities mean that club members are paying directly into our bank account. This has the potential for payments not to be recognised causing organisers and the Treasurer having a harder job trying to decipher who has paid and what for. The West Bromwich Mountaineering Club is a club run by and for climbers and hill walkers based in the West Midlands and surrounding areas.
We have a diverse membership of around 200 people ranging from children to retirees who take part in a wide variety of outdoor activities, including mountaineering, rock climbing, hill walking, skiing, mountain biking, kayaking, and camping.

The West Bromwich Mountaineering Club Hut is a well maintained hut which can accommodate 16 people in communal beds. People with a passion for mountaineering can use the hut. It is surrounded by the most breath taking walks and Mountains in Snowdonia.
At West Bromwich Mountaineering Club, our Hut is situated 3m from the town of Beddgelert at the bottom of the Watkin Path which leads directly to the summit of Snowdon. We believe that hiking is not only a great way to stay fit and healthy, but also a way to connect with nature and disconnect from the stresses of daily life.
